is it normal to have heartburn when pregnant?

i just found out im pregnant a couple days ago and im now all nervous for every little pain..
is it normal to have heartburn?? its really bad going basically through my chest to my back and especially in my shoulder blades. is this normal??

also, is it normal to have really bad cramps when i get done going up the steps? (im five weeks and a day)
