Any good/yummy hot drinks that DON’T give you heartburn?

nitropit68 asked:

- Hot coffee gives me a lot of heartburn.
– Hot chocolate gives me heartburn from the chocolate.
– Hot cappuccino from the machines at local dairy marts gives me heartburn (and I love this stuff!).
– Hot tea gives me heartburn and acidy stomach.
– Steamed milk is yummy but fattening, and sometimes gives me gas and heartburn from lactic acid.

Anything out there that’s yummy and DOESN’T have acid and DOESN’T give you heartburn?

Do I have GERD? Acid reflux?

Thursday, February 18th, 2010
Kurt W asked:

For the past three months I have experienced acid coming back up to my throat. Some days I feel bloated and burp a lot. I have quit drinking and changed my diet. Recently, I started the Alkaline diet. It seemed to work at first but today it came back. I usually feel better when I lay down which is opposite of what everyone else says. I wake up feeling great but after I eat something it comes back. I have been taking omaprazole and it doesn’t seem to do much. Not sure what I have. I’m living in Japan so going to the doctor is difficult, I can’t find one that speaks good English, that is why I am here. They keep saying GERD but I’m not sure. Thanks for any help! I need it!!!

What are some alternatives to Reglan for a 6 month old baby?

my daughter has been on Reglan since birth for GERD and I was thinking about asking the doctor if we can try to take her off of it. I have heard about a lot of nasty side effects from it and I was just wondering if anyone has had a baby with GERD who was treated with something other than Reglan.

it’s been 3 days since I changed my son’s milk and now he vomits the entire milk after each feeding. he didn’t vomit for the first 2 days but now he begins to show signs of GERD, he also has loose stools. is it possible that at 6mos GERD will develop, likewise could it be the new milk that causes this problem?. His pedia is out of the country until saturday. this worries me a lot.

How long does it take for acid reflux to go away?

daphnerst asked:

I started suffering from the symptoms of acid reflux the week after Thanksgiving. On December 21, I went to a doctor and he gave me Prevacid. I’ve been taking that since then. I started feeling much better about a week after I started taking the medication, but my symptoms are not all the way gone. Sometimes I still feel like I have a lump at the back of my throat and I have to burp a lot. Occasionally I’m slightly nauseous. How long does it typically take to recover from acid reflux, or do you recover at all? And when I run out of medication, should I be fine by then or will I need more? I have enough for about a month and a half. I do plan on going back for a check up at the end of this month as well, as my doctor asked me to.
